Fraser Region Aboriginal ECD Network Funding Overview

When the Fraser Region Aboriginal Early Childhood Development Network was created, it received support from the Ministry of Children and Family Development, Aboriginal Community Services.

In 2006, Success By 6 Aboriginal Engagement Strategy funded the Fraser Region Aboriginal ECD Network and continues to provide funding for coordination and network initiatives.

The network members work together in a collaborative manner on projects that provide training, awareness, and cultural materials that are made accessible to all members of the network and within Fraser Region communities.

Fraser Region Aboriginal ECD Network decisions are made collectively to ensure that all Aboriginal children, families, and communities in the Fraser Region embrace and practice their culture; that they have access to a full range of culturally appropriate early childhood development services that will in turn foster and enhance their ability to reach their maximum potential.

We have many voices, however; we have ONE plan that will be our guide in achieving the goals that we have collectively identified for the Fraser Region Aboriginal ECD Network and are noted in our Strategic Plan.

In the year ahead, it is the hope that the Fraser Region Aboriginal ECD Network will collectively enhance existing processes and systems and will move forward in meeting the needs of the Aboriginal community, children and families.
